photo album bookbinding kit

As the days start to get shorter and cooler, I start making a mental list of all the indoor art/craft projects I’ve always wanted to do. Well, that list is getting a little out of control, but I think I’m going to have to add this album bookbinding kit ($33) because, well, I love to fold paper. This kit supplies all the materials to make your own photo album, except the glue, bone folder and x-acto knife. I’m hoping once I try making an album from a kit, I would then be able to make one from scratch.
ClipLine

ClipLine is a cool new frame product from Sweden that allows you to hang photos on the wall and change the photos as often as you like. It consists of a wooden base in either oak or walnut that attaches to the wall and a plexiglass cover for your photos that bends enough for you to easily slip in your photographs. It’s also a great option for hanging photos when you might be worried that a traditional glass frame could get knocked down and break. Get it at scandinavian design online.
colette

Colette just launched their new website and I spotted this limited edition Polaroid pop camera kit on there. The kit “contains one instant One600 ultra camera, 2 stickers sheets to make your own camera and one pack of 10 photos with ‘Pop design’ customised frames.” I do think it is overpriced considering you are just putting the stickers on to decorate the camera. But it is fun to look at. And the colette site is fun, too.
ohio design photographic furniture

Inhabitat has a post up on some of the new photo-printed furniture designs from Ohio Design. And some more pictures here. I’m not sure if I like the furniture designs, but the photos on woodgrain effect is fantastic. I’d love to see some kind of wall hanging of photos on wood like this.
le lumache photo album

This photo album cover has the perfect colors of the last summer days fading into fall. The Le Lumache Photo Album is from Xilocart, the artisan press of Mariaelisa Leboroni. Her work is that of xilografia—printmaking using engraved wooden blocks—with tools and techniques that date back to the fifteenth century. For more on her work check out her website.
thomas weinberger

Amazing photographs from Thomas Weinberger. Using a large-format camera, the film is exposed once during the day and once at night, creating an unnatural lighting effect that is eerily beautiful.
(Via conscientious)flight 001 camera bags

Some bags for your digital camera from flight 001. The digi-camera ($32) and (slightly smaller) digi photo ($28)
both feature carabineer hook, memory card/ battery pocket, built in raincoat and padded casing.cascade Frame

Great use of fine-gauge ball chain in this frame within a frame from the U+ Studio Collection by Umbra, ($45 at Fosters).
photo-opoly

I’m not a big fan of Monopoly (I’m a Scrabble gal at heart). But it might be a bit more fun with a customizable photo-opoly board game.
anywheres and skinny strips

I love all the magnetic goodness produced by Seattle’s Three by Three. They have some new products out and I love, love, love these anywheres™ adhesive-backed powdercoated metal thingies. You can stick ‘em up anywhere and use the super strong magnet to attach any photo, note or artwork to your mini magnet board. They come in a range of shapes and colors – I would love to put up a bunch of the red arrows on a wall in a cool pattern so they could be artwork on their own, regardless of whether they are holding anything up. A pack of four is $7.50 and you can get them online here.
Also, love the new skinny strips™ for holding up photos, too.

alec soth blog

I greatly admire the photography of alec soth. Turns out he is also an excellent and thoughtful writer. Check out his new blog, in which he writes about other photographer’s work and answers questions about his work and techniques.

flat flowers

Fake flowers are so, well, fake. But beautiful photos of flower bouquets printed on transparent static cling material that you can put in your window? I love it! And it’s certainly a clever use of photography in design. Flat Flowers from photographer/designer Suseela Gorter come in a small postcard format for mailing as a gift and a larger size, as well. Available online at dutch by design.
insta-click! camera tee

Super cute camera tee from fredflare.
fotoclip fun

I love my fotoclips and am currently putting together some ideas for using them to post on fototiller. In the meantime, I started a fotoclips flickr group, clip it good, to see how y’all are using your fotoclips (you do have some, right?). And here’s an idea I saw over on urban outfitters; cut out your photos with the lomo circle cutter and clip together to make cool circle curtains and room dividers.
BTW, I’m on vacation (hiking in the Rockies) this week and the beginning of next, so posting will be light – I may even take a few days off. Hope you are all having a great week!
two twelve

Check out twotwelve’s etsy shop – they make notepads and journals from recycled papers and then cover them with an original road trip photo print.
